Nancy: A former Biology Science teacher in Massachusetts for over 30 years, and graduate of Northeastern University with a Master’s degree in Microbiology. She is an avid cook, reader, knitter and quilter. Prior to her retirement from education Nancy managed and prepared breakfast for an eleven room Bed and Breakfast in York Beach Maine during the summer months for seven years. This experience gave her an appreciation as well as valuable experience for what it takes to run a successful Bed and Breakfast. The enjoyment of greeting and meeting people from all over the world would give rise to her own dream of one day owning her own Bed and Breakfast. After years of searching many states and B&B opportunities she fell in love with the Amelia Payson House and Salem.
Jim: A former Earth Science, Chemistry and Marine Biology teacher and High School Principal for over 30 years; a graduate of the University of Massachusetts and Boston College. A person who is at home in the garden, on the beach fishing, or playing a round of golf. Jim has traveled extensively with Nancy throughout the world on many science expeditions and exotic vacation locations for over thirty years.
Together, our hospitality and welcoming environment of the Amelia Payson House continues our life long practice of welcoming people to our home, enjoying good conversation, good food and creating an atmosphere of friendship and family.
